BIOGRAPHY
PIETRO SIOTTO (b. 1961, Nuoro, SARDEGNA, ITALIA)
Pietro Siotto makes sculptures from found objects
(around NY and along the shore of the Hudson River)
Once assembled the sculpture is then housed in a handcrafted wooden box which serves as protection during transport and is designed to be a stand for the sculpture it houses thus completing the work.
Whilst seemingly whimsical in nature the works as well as having their own artistic history refer to the artists fascination with objects that he finds in his environment and how to make them into beautiful new objects that have a whole new meaning and life.
